The Church Planning Project of Orchard Road Presbyterian Church began in the late 1980's, gathering momentum by the early 1990's.
As the four congregations at Orchard Road Presbyterian Church grew rapidly, more space and facilities were needed. This led to the decision to tender for the site at Bukit Batok. The Housing Development Board awarded a 30-year lease beginning 1 July 1992. Planning permission was granted on 17 August 1993, and within two short years, the building works were finally completed.
The inaugural service of the English Congregation took place on 2 July 1995 and a few weeks later, the Mandarin and Indonesian Congregations commenced regular Sunday Services. Worship facilities comprise two sanctuaries with galleries and a chapel. Ancillary facilities include a multipurpose hall with rooms for conference, seminar, counseling, library, choir, creche and Sunday Schools.
All of these, together with the growing ministry bear witness and testimony to the grace of God and commitment of His people. |
